Anderson Inlet Angling Club was founded by a group of fishermen who held their first meeting over at Point Smythe. As the numbers grew, there was a need to find a location to enable the group to hold meetings and have their weigh-ins after each Monthly Competition.
In 1960 an application was put forward for permission to have a building placed on the site where it is now on the corner of Cuttriss Street and The Esplanade.
The Committee of Management of the day hired Henry Donohue Removals of Wonthaggi to Purchase a building on behalf of the Club.
The chosen building came from the Monash University, which was part of the Talbot Colony in Clayton. The building was a former infectious disease hospital, then it was used as a psychiatric ward.
The cost to be paid by the Angling Club to Henry Donohue in 1962 was $600. The placement of the building was done by volunteers overseen by a qualified engineer, the building stands to this day with only a few alterations.
The Club Rooms now incorporate a Bar Room and BBQ Room.
The Club Rooms are owned by the Anderson Inlet Angling Club Inc which is a Not for Profit Organization, the club is run by volunteers who help maintain the building and perform the everyday running of the club.
